Matt3 to craig Premium Member Sep 2: I had the mirror crash early on in my build, and the Intel Ich9g software started rebuilding the other drive, but when I rebooted it was totally munged both drives. Or sign in with one of these services. Any reasonably priced RAID controller suggestions?

I’m thinking that maybe the PCIE link just does not have enough bandwidth available cih9r it or the motherboard or chipset is not distributing the bandwidth efficiently enough when the demand calls for it! Posted January 29, I went into Disk Management and the partition was showing up black so I right clicked on the drive box next to the partition box and selected reactivate disk and it was fine after that!

I was able to decouple the raid through the windows version of MSM and see the files on the drives, but to restore the mirror I had to blank both drives and start over. More than likely you’re hitting a performance barrier on the ICH9-R. Edited August 10, by Michal Soltys.

I had a similar problem with my RAID 0 array once. There are certain chipset specific drivers related to hard drives, and if they are the wrong ones you will never be able to boot off the hard drive without doing a repair install of Windows.

All drives are running at SATA 3. I updated the drivers for Gigaraid and it improved it heaps but every so often when I’m playing music off the RAID it will stutter and lag!
