While I agree that the stuff about flatness is silly, having hiss on some systems is perfectly reasonable, particularly if he tried headphones. Asus, Creative, etc all make suitable options. The latest version is based on Creative’s Audigy Rx driver.

Thank you so much! For the older Audigy cards, there are both benefits and drawbacks compared to the latest official drivers: Perhaps I should look into a better sound card for the Mac Pro. Basically you’re getting a new soundcard.

I know both of the devices you’re describing intimately, and I listen on crextive decent bookshelves and very good headphones. Can’t input is the most important thing, waiting for your complete release with input function. Im using the WDM drivers for the card and like I stated its been excellent stability wise.
