When you boot from an XP installation CD, what exactly happens? One other thing, when loading the drivers during XP instal at F6 prompt, XP suggested it had a better driver. I’ve forgotten my password. I got a replacement and then found out that my PSU also needed replacing. The installer can t find the sata drivers for an asus a7n8x deluxe Windows 7; Windows; Windows 7 drivers for sata controller on asus a7n8x.

The drive maker should also have a utility to wipe the drive as well and you can load this onto the Boot CD or just make a Floppy and change Floppies once you have the SATA drivers installed.

SATA power disconnected but data attached. I did remove them and tried again before I posted.

ASUS A7N8X-E Deluxe SATA issue

I had to make a bios and flash it to get my larger SATA to be recognised. My PC was runnign fone for a few months before the mobo packed in.

Everything looked good until I got to the portion on what drive to use and any partitions I wanted to make. I am in the process of a7n8s the method I used successfully to wsus of these web sites. We now need to download the SATA drivers and put them onto a floppy. The screen should then change to Windows Setup with a blue background. AustrAlien Google is my friend. Posted 23 September – A disk reset will do the trick.
